RegioGreenTex: Closing a chapter, continuing a mission

From vision to action in Europe’s circular textile transition

Last week in Brussels, the RegioGreenTex project officially came to a close – a European initiative that brought together 11 textile-intensive regions around one shared ambition: building a circular textile economy.

Under the umbrella of the European Green Deal, RegioGreenTex not only provided financial and technical support to SMEs but also fostered sustainable innovation hubs and cross-border collaboration. Together, these efforts laid the foundation for a future where textile production and reuse strengthen – rather than oppose – one another.

A network that keeps growing

Throughout the project, Ariadne Innovation played a connecting role between clusters, businesses, and policymakers. Ariadne also developed the digital platform that links all RegioGreenTex results, tools and actors – and which will soon be integrated into Ellie.Connect.

From policy to practice

The closing event in Brussels brought together nearly one hundred partners, policymakers, and European institutions. Their message was clear: Europe’s circular textile transition has begun, but its success depends on one key factor: how effectively innovation, investment and policy reinforce one another.

From pioneering dyeing technologies to new digital tools and reflections on the European textile industry’s future, the two-day event showcased an industry in transformation. The RegioGreenTex partners demonstrated that collaboration works: local innovation can drive global impact.

A legacy that lives on

Although the project has formally concluded, its mission is far from over.
RegioGreenTex closes one chapter but the movement toward circular textile production has only just begun.
